Wired calls him "The Linus Torvalds of Antigravity", but NASA still won't return his calls. Since the birth of American Antigravity in 2002, Tim has been featured on a multitude of television networks, such as Nippon TV and the BBC, as well as extensively covered in print by sources as diverse as Wired Magazine and Jane's Defense Weekly.
Is the classic Philadelphia Experiment tale really a cover for a more mysterious project designed by Nikola Tesla? Beckwith Electric CEO Bob Beckwith claims to have been a participant in the Philadelphia Experiment as a GE engineer working on field-coils for what he claims is the real test-platform: a smaller vessel named the "USS Martha's Vineyard", with naval designation "IX-97".
This 45-page overview (also available for $20 in hardcover) states that the Philadelphia Experiment as reported by Moore & Berlitz may have actually been a cover story for a project developed by Dr. Edward Teller and Nikola Tesla. This well-written book provides a great deal of historical data relevant to support Beckwith's statements, and it's worth a read to just for the background on Tesla alone...
Beckwith writes about far more than just Tesla, though -- in his story, the inventor is a key participant in a secret-experiment involving a naval minesweeper dubbed the "IX-97", which Beckwith himself claims to have worked on. Beckwith's story also contains photos, scans of historical documents & security clearances to document Beckwith's credentials, and details on the Allied development of early naval stealth technologies.
Is the Beckwith story true, or just more naval folkore based on myth & legend? Decide for yourself after reading this well-written overview describing what he claims is the biggest breakthrough - and coverup -- in history!
Did you happen to explore the Beckwithelectric.com web site Under About Beckwith there is the CEO message and on the right of that page is Robert Beckwiths resume. Mr. Beckwith looks to be hands down the most credible source to date. A CEO of a major corporation like that doesnt jeopardize his company and reputation by being ridiculous. I would tend to believe that what he states is 100 truth. He is 86 years old and he probably wants to lay it all out before he is unable to.

This rating is based on the E-Book and not the article as it seems Tim is just reporting the ideas of Beckwith. Mostly I object to Beckwith's fast and loose description of physics. True scientific advancement comes from reducing complexity and showing how different theories can be seen as inter-related. Only in this way can one find a reality that is consistant from all viewpoints. In effect one steps back from the local view to see the big picture. Beckwith makes the common layman's error of trying to impress by adding to the lexicon of jargon in physics. It is no scientific advancement to just label physical phenomena as he does and it's quite irritating that people are impressed by this fast and loose interpretation of physics.

Tim:
You did well with this. I read this report about a year ago and am glad it made its way to you...

I'm writing this in response to the Beckwith article "Levitation Teleportation and Time Travel" and in particular Beckwith's account of the so-called Philadelphia Experiment. The article is filled with historical nonsense like Teller's leaving the Manhattan Project in 1942 to work on sonar - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Teller . Beckwith gives no sources or evidence for Tesla's supposed research into teleportation (credible or otherwise) only his own specualtion. His statement about "acoustic guitars that use electronic feedback to make strings continue to sing after being plucked" is wrong. The German mines that he talks about are without historical basis and since the ludicrous "time travel" solution to avoid them was abandoned he fails to cite how it was we were able to defeat them. It's worthy of note that he claims it was feared in 1942 that they would keep American troops from reaching Britain when in 1942 we were already putting troops there - http://www.wwiiheroes.com/Gallery/Timeline.asp . I could go on and on but here is neither the time or place. Beckwith's account though holding a few grains of fact is no true account of the Philadelphia Experiment.

I was on the US Eldridge in 1943 when they made it disappear. I've never wanted to talk about it but hey I'm getting old now and I think the time has come for the goddam truth to finalluy come out. We al witnessed a flash of green light and the next thign we knew we wee in some other port and everyone was wearign wierd clothes and listening to what I now know were Sony Walkmans... yes we had been teleported in time to 1983 only we didn't know it back then. When we finally got back to Philadelphia seven of the crew were dead an other ten were fused to the ships body and the rest of us were taken by the Military for "tests". To this day I sometimes still find myself looking down at my legs only to find they've turned invisisble usually in private fortunately though... The Military should be ashamed of whay they did and tell the truth about it... Why has no-one ever talked to the families of the men who died I'll tell you why... because they hypnotised gave them LSD and wiped their memories of their relatives. They tried to do the same with me but for some reason it never worked... I sometimes wish it had. Anonymous (if I tell my name to FBI will come after me... sorry)
