Wired calls him "The Linus Torvalds of Antigravity", but NASA still won't return his calls. Since the birth of American Antigravity in 2002, Tim has been featured on a multitude of television networks, such as Nippon TV and the BBC, as well as extensively covered in print by sources as diverse as Wired Magazine and Jane's Defense Weekly.

Antigravity Newsgroup Trends & Statistics

Does this year mark the end of Open-Source Antigravity? It's one thing to talk about how quiet the newsgroups have been, but quite another to quantify it. This comprehensive analysis of Yahoo newsgroup trends follows the activity and enrollment of several Yahoo Newsgroups between 1998 and 2006 to provide you with insight into the trends that drive the online community.

Our measurements were based on the data available - in this case, user enrollment and montly message volume. Our breakdown includes several emerging niche venues in addition to the traditional portal groups of JLN-Labs, Greenglow, Lifters, and NewElectroGravity. What we found was surprising: a significant drop in overall posting volume since the peak year of 2002, as well as a user migration from portal sites to niche sites since that time. So is the end nigh, or is this just a lull while user focus on other areas of interest? Only time will tell...

Yeah, but the end of open-source doesn't mean the end of antigravity, right? I mean, it makes sense that people are going to leave for a while and return every now and then to check up on things. I think that the war in Iraq is a major distraction, too...

The answer is simple -- no results. Talk, talk, talk. Dense mathematics. Theories. Conjectures. Impressive imagination in creating new names. But, no results. No over-unity devices actually lighting up a light bulb for days. No anti-gravity devices floating above the floor. Promises -- after-the-fact photos -- but never a demonstration. That's why interest is waning. That's also the reason con artists have to keep moving from city to city. Sorry, Tim.

The open source community has developed lifters and it hasn't changed the world (yet). I think the problem is that lifters have been marginalized with the claim they're utilising a 'non-antigravity' and 'non-electrokinetic' effect (ion winds). If an open source device was developed which employed an effect that was 100% proven to be electro-gravitic, everyone would be trying to build them.
Its a shame that there has never been a successful open source replication of the Marcus Device or De Aquino's ELF Gravitational Shield.
Another problem with Lifter's has been the power source. Hopefully, a zero-point (Steorn?) energy source would enable people to create lifters capable of hitting the edge of space.
When this happens, everyone will want to build one.

Well researched article Tim. I would be curious to see the statistics of the free energy groups over that same time period until today. I would bet they have grown. The interest in propulsion seems to be waning but the focus is likely placed on free energy. Without energy as you know these electrogravetic propulsion methods are going no place very far from the wire tether. Might make a good future article for you to pursue.

It might help if you could provide more evidence. Steorn is fun to watch, but I have very little interest in antigrav tech right now because I think we got to solve the energy problem first. Show me a way to generate lots of cheap clean energy and I'll go back and read up on M-theory. But why the focus on antigrav? What does that solve? Why not just ask the aliens? Certainly they're enlightened enough to understand concepts like open-source, whereas some people just don't quite get it.

Here's a hint. Open-source is more like open collaboration. I don't see much collaboration going on here. It seems to me like some people are keeping most of the secrets to themselves and have very little interest disseminating information or encouraging collaboration on science-based experiments. It could be rough science without the professional peer review process and still get us closer to the truth by armchair scientists doing ad-hoc peer review over the web, assuming they back up their opinions with real physics and examples, etc. But this requires us to swallow our pride, something beyond our abilities, IMO. Go ahead, prove me wrong. Open Source is Altruism. When you understand that you will understand it never goes away.

To Michael's Comment: VERY interesting point - perhaps the wane in AG newsgroups is tied into growth in free-energy groups. To be sure, both are connected in the human psyche, and given that they both involve work at the edge of science, they tend also to attract a similar audience. However, for me Antigravity represents a dream that energy will never fulfill. While I deeply understand the pressing need for energy solutions to our current crises, I hope that they don't push AG research out in the cold as a result...

Antigravity represents a dream that energy will never fulfill.

This is true, never let anyone like me discourage you from pursuing the truth. But be skeptical, disseminating disinformation can be a detriment to the reputation. Open source has high ethical standards and expects honest discourse. Even the slightest omission can tarnish credibility.

When I discovered in 1967 how a Flying Saucer works I offered as a good Patriot the invention to Canada as a birthday present was instantly describes as an idiot. Nobody could invent the device that I had invented. It said in the Physics books that it was probably only a theoretical device, as nobody could make it work in practice. My dear wife found the stack of letters of ridicule, insults and denials, that came even after the patent was granted and did not want me to work on it anymore or she would have left me. She passed away a while ago and now I am working on it again. Slowly as everything cost money, like building an all-electric car like Tesla, who found the samew device but did not dare to patent it, when he realized that it could be used to give every dwelling on earth free electric power.

I certainly hope not! Antigravity research must continue until each of us has our own millennium falcon!

Hi Tim,
First of All, I have to congratulate you for the great job that you have done all of these years as also and to the other researchers and Labs like JLN Labs, Intalek, NewElectrogravity, e.t.c.
Well you really reached to a very interesting and critical point about the Groups which for me the answer is very simple(because I am an unusual person).
I have to say that I am not a usual man and so I will be happy to give you my insight about your questions, even if it will be stupid in a way and for many reasons, but I will do it.
I am also a member of the Yahoo Groups and I have registered to 10 of them.I am inactive member the last 4 years, but I observe and I have already noticed the behaviour of the Groups.
Answer (1):Personally after the publication of my theoretical work ( purposely I do not mention the name, but those who know, know ) in 2003, I started to not send any more posts to the Groups, because I thought that I am giving many ideas and info for free.Everybody beyond the interest also want to invest on these subjects. So I think in a way that I am little bit responsible about what you observed(Is it a joke or not?), because highly intuitive scientifically members like me and others will stop to participate and will remain only to observe and fish the ideas and the info of the others. The info of the others can be used for forecast of progress on these subjects as also to observe who is near to a truth according to a personal opinion.
Answer (2):The Technicians, Profesional Scientists or amateurs researchers ( Like me which profesionally I am an Electronic Engineer) which they are a small percentage in the Groups, will try to take advantage of the free info and if they succeed something, you will never hear about them again (I have not succeed something important, but I have made some simple experiments).
Answer (3):The rest of the members of the Yahoo Groups have been registered to them accidently or by simple curiosity to explore and to exchange by learning about these new ideas. This percentage of the members of the Groups which mostly has not any technological background, but only what they have heard on TV, have read magazines and have seen something on the Internet, these people will left the Groups very quickly because they cannot follow it.

So the answer to your question as a Total is that the Great Gap of inactivity on the Groups belongs to the large percentage who they lack of Knowledges on these subjects. Those who have remained active are: The Moderators, the Theoreticians(harmless),those who are seeking some contact to go further carefully and those who are searching technical information to make their own experiments.

The silence on these subjects is related more to secrecy, because if you look around you all of these years, can you remember how much info is already exchanged and how Scientific Papers, Patents and experiments are already published on the Internet?

You do not know how much I want to share ideas and info about Seismology,Antigravity, OverUnity Devices,Archeology.Because I am not a usual man, I have the fear that those I can reveal are beyond the truth, everybody will take advantage of me and I will not profit anything. I have understood why some experiments have failed to achieve Antigravitational or OverUnity effects (Sensitive Conditions).

Do not forget:The Know-How is very well deeply hidden in Scientific Papers and Patents or experiments, because nobody wants to reveal the truth just for the shake of Knowledge.Everybody wants to take advantage this kind of knowledge and to invest on it for money and because he just likes it.

Congratulations again for the great and interesting work that you!The American Antigravity for me has become the official Electronic Newspaper for these subjects.

Best Wishes

An amateur Explorer of the Truth

To Comment #5: Why not just ask the aliens? Thirty years ago a psychic research group asked a trance psychic about alien visitations and UFO propulsion, and got a 40-odd page reply. From this I have summarized UFO structure, propulsion and origin in a 3-page MS Word document. This document is free to anyone who requests it. Is anyone interested?

I agree with those who are tired of allot of talk, but no result. You get the feeling that you are tricked to just go around in circles. Somebody is sitting on this technology, it exist, but how to get it out there!

Humm... Well, I think people were waiting for something to happen.. And nothing has happened: No projects has taken off and no formal and official reseach is being carried out. So, people get tired and bored of waiting.

Hey there, I have been doing mass amounts of research into Anti-Gravity, Shocking to hear though, I have found a solution that will make Anti-Gravity work 100%. I am currently beginning the Prototypes Production, but as far as I have seen on the Internet, No one else has come up with a solution that will actually work, I have the solution though, it's not open-source info, I worked my Ass off to come up with it. Keep an Eye out for it's Launch in Jan. 2009, You'll Love it :)

The government is way off, they're little sectret is no secret at all, relating to them, it's all a cover story.

Watch for my move.
