American Antigravity and the NewsGroups

The birth of the new millennium saw a sea-change in alt-science, as the community migrated from a rag-tag collection of annual conferences to the easy accessibility of Yahoo Groups and a few notable mailing-lists. These forums in many ways helped define American Antigravity, and thus it's worth listing our participation in the key groups that defined the open-source Antigravity movement...

The Lifter phenomenon exploded into the newsgroups in 2002, swelling enrollment in JLN-Labs from tens to thousands of members – many of whom founding websites & newsgroups of their own. This 6-page documentary guides you through 4 years of newsgroups from our perspective - some of them before the Lifter revolution, and many that it later inspired. Some of them date back to the 90's, and others are scarcely a year old: all of them, however, helped shape the open-source Antigravity community in one sense or another.

Outstanding stats on a fascinating sociological phenomena - the rise and fall of personal involvement in science. I hope to someday see people motivated to return to this field.
