In December 1986, he wrote a letter to the stockholders of the Collins Corporation, in which he detailed having constructed a device that functioned so well that it overloaded and caught fire from the massive amount of electricity generated. This letter was confirmed later by Mark Whitford during the digital-archiving process to ensure that it was accurate.

Paul Brown collected copies of letters relating to his research in his files, which were all digitally archived shortly before his death in 2001.
