The Father of Modern Antigravity
John
Searl is the man that brought Antigravity into the public
light by touring England giving demonstrations of his SEG
and IGV technologies during the 1960's. The original technology
was either lost or destroyed, but DISC Corporation is building
a new prototype SEG.
The Searl Effect and the SEG
If
the Searl Effect is real, then it is caused by a complex
rotational-magnetic effect that has ancillary effects on
both electricity and gravity. John Searl has published several
books on the subject, and any attempt at a brief summary
of the effect falls short of his detailed explanation.
The
being said, the SEG is composed of a series of neodynmium
rollers that have been pressure-fitted into layered jackets
of nylon, titanium, and aluminum. The layered rollers sit
on a ring that is also composed of layered neodynium, and
the rollers are spun around this ring at high-speeds like
a gigantic roller-bearing to create the Searl-Effect.
At
low speeds, Searl claims that the SEG produces electrical
power by absorbing it from the surrounding environment and
transmitting it through the roller and ring arrangement
to collectors. When the speed increases past a certain point,
Searl claims that the apparatus becomes a superconductor
that creates an enormous antigravity effect. This antigravity
portion of the Searl Effect is the basis for the IGV craft
that Searl built and demonstrated in the 1960's. click

Is the Searl Effect Real?
The
dispute over whether the Searl Effect is real dates back
to the 1960's, and will probably only be solved for good
once DISC corporation has the chance to complete the next-generation
SEG that they are constructing.
We
know that Searl did put together a team of experts to build
several SEG's in the Midlands part of England, which he
then took to public demonstrations in the 1960's. We also
know that there are a number of photos showing the IGV levitating
under power in the air, in addition to the detailed photographic
records Searl kept of the construction process.
Rumors
have persisted over the years about whether Searl actually
powered-up the craft at his exhibitions. A Finnish student
recently published a document online claiming that Searl
did give demonstrations but didn't actually show the craft
during operation to the public. Little is known about the
student's motivations for publishing this report, though,
and as of this writing the rumors cannot be substantiated.
Searl
has had run-ins with both the government and unscrupulous
investors over the years that have caused him great difficulty.
He claims that It is because of these problems that he no
longer has even the original SEG's for demonstration.

DISC Corporation
While
the truth about the Searl Effect is in question, nobody
can dispute the fact that John Searl has invested his entire
life into promoting his vision of free-energy and antigravity
for the masses.
As
a tribute to John Searl's vision and tenacity, the DISC
corporation, run by CEO John Thomas with guidance from John
Searl, is attempting to build a functional SEG to prove
Searl's claims once and for all.
DISC
Corporation and SearlEffect.Com have been investing the
proceeds from the sale of their books and video-tape sales
into building a prototype SEG, which John Thomas then intends
to use as the basis for a corporate venture to fill the
skies with IGV's powered by Searl-Effect Generators. click

Editor's Note
I
initially resisted doing a page on the American Antigravity
site about the Searl Effect because of the controversy surrounding
both Searl himself and the amazing nature of his claims
about the effect.
This
page actually came about from circumstantial evidence regarding
the Searl Effect from other experiments that claimed to
support his experimental claims. I have yet to see evidence
from the Searl team directly that the effect is real, but
experiments by other groups without vested interest in the
Searl Effect seem to lend support to his claims.
The
Searl-Effect is based on complex rotating magnetic-field
effects, and as such is related to the experiments performed
by Godin & Roschin, Marcus Hollingshead, KD, and in
a very general way even the work that Podkletnov and Ning
Li have done with rotating superconductors.
Godin
and Roschin replicated a single-ring SEG in Russia and reported
that as the device reached 550 rpm that it began to self-accelerate
and was enveloped in a bluish glow. Marcus Hollingshead
is using a device featuring a unique coil-design, and despite
the fact that he had never heard of the SEG while building
his device, he claims that his effects of Antigravity and
field-effect shielding match the SEG almost perfectly.
While
these reports are circumstantial evidence at best, it prompted
me to take another look at the Searl Effect, which eventually
led me to add it to the American Antigravity website. --
